Job description

We are looking for exceptional junior talent with strong analytical ability, curiosity, and technical capability to work directly alongside traders in a fast-moving commercial environment. This is not a traditional reporting or operations role. You will be expected to think critically, work with complex datasets, challenge assumptions, and help develop insights that contribute directly to trading performance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse European power markets, pricing behaviour, and market fundamentals
  • Build tools, datasets, and models that support trading decisions
  • Work with large volumes of market and transactional data
  • Identify inefficiencies, patterns, and opportunities using quantitative analysis
  • Develop automation and improve internal trading infrastructure
  • Support traders with real-time analysis and decision support
  • Continuously improve workflows using modern coding and analytical practices

Job requirements

  • Highly analytical and intellectually curious mindset
  • Strong quantitative or technical academic background
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently
  • Programming capability in Python, SQL, or similar languages
  • Genuine interest in energy markets, trading, data, and technology
  • Comfortable working in a high-performance and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt under pressure

Preferred backgorunds

  • We are particularly interested in candidates from: Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, Data Science
  • Previous energy market experience is valuable.
