This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions.

The Wheat Origination Merchantwill handle a moderately complex supplier base and fulfill transactions delivering commodities that meet production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and cost. In this role, you will buy commodities from producers through our country facing teams.

• Collaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, customer managers and credit manager to ensure efficient execution.
• Plan purchases and transportation to maximize profitable use of stock and storage facilities.
• Enter routine data and run specialty reports from our contract management databases and systems.
• Consciously elevate data management and seek new ways to support greater trading team with purchasing insights.
• Research and analyze various freight opportunities in the marketplace to maximize margin.
• Oversee and lead mix and blend potential, engaging key stakeholders in the process.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two years of related work experience
• Must be leagally entitled to work for Cargill in Canda
