Internship Overview

Our Global Trade Services (GTS) Department is seeking a proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented intern to join the TCF Middle Office Team. You will work alongside experienced professionals and support the monitoring, administration, and control of Trade & Commodity Finance transactions while gaining valuable insight into banking operations, risk management, and client servicing.

This internship is designed to help you develop the knowledge and practical skills required to grow into a professional within Trade & Commodity Finance.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Here's what you'll explore:

  • Supporting the administration and monitoring of Trade & Commodity Finance transactions throughout their lifecycle.
  • Assisting with the review and maintenance of transaction documentation, ensuring completeness and compliance with internal procedures.
  • Supporting collateral and limit monitoring activities.
  • Assisting with data quality checks, reconciliations, and operational controls.
  • Monitoring transaction milestones, outstanding conditions, and follow-up actions.
  • Supporting the preparation of internal reports, management information, and portfolio analyses.
  • Collaborating with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transaction execution.
  • Supporting investigations and resolution of operational issues, exceptions, and client queries.
  • Learning how regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements are applied within Trade & Commodity Finance.
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and strengthening controls.
  • Ensuring adherence to the bank's policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
