Join Garanti BBVA International as an ALM Associate to shape liquidity, IRRBB and FX risk strategies, execute with precision, and grow treasury partnerships.

The ALM Associate takes part in the management of market risks (liquidity, IRRBB, FX) to which the Bank is exposed. Always with a forward looking approach, he/she assists in identifying these risks, substantiating the market strategy to manage them, and in ensuring the execution of these strategies with operational excellence. He/she maintains treasury relations with other financial institutions, with a view to continuously enhance and enlarge GBI’s market access. Also, he/she compiles FTP parameters to ensure profitability and sustainable capital generation. Additionally, he/she takes part in Budget, ICAAP/ILAAP, Recovery Plan processes.

Responsibilities

  • In-depth understanding of various market risks (e.g. liquidity risk, interest rate risk, FX risk) to which the bank is exposed, and of the financial products used to manage and mitigate these risks.
  • Monitor liquidity, interest rate and FX risks of the Bank, as well as market developments in relevant jurisdictions and products, with a view to propose alternative strategies for management of these risks to the Director of ALM. Upon approval, executing necessary financial transactions in line with these strategies.
  • Liaise with the LoBs to track upcoming business and understand future evolution of the balance sheet, proactively assessing future risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Calculate and follow FTP parameters ensuring profitability. Also, providing bespoke internal pricing for structured or non-standard (e.g. optionality, collateral eligibility) loans/deposits.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory ratios, internal and external metrics, and other delegated restrictions, constraints and targets.
  • Execute necessary transactions to manage daily cash flows and Nostro balances of the Bank.
  • Assist in the preparation of ALCO material.
  • Assist in executing the daily transactions for smooth running of the ALM function.
  • Maintain the internal framework of policies and procedures
  • Be alert at all times to detect any fraudulent, illegal, unauthorized or unusual activities of clients, Bank’s own personnel or other counterparts and duly reporting them.

Skills/Qualifications
  • Proven knowledge of Treasury products and activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Turkish is a plus

Education and Experience
  • University graduate, preferably with a master’s degree at least one focusing on either Finance, Economics or Engineering.
  • 2+ years work experience in a role relating to ALM, Finance or Trading.
