IDH

at a glance

IDH (founded 2008) is a global organisation headquartered in Utrecht that brings together public and private stakeholders to make agricultural markets more sustainable and inclusive.

With 300+ conveners and experts, across 15+ countries and 1000+ partners, IDH works with governments, companies, civil society organisations, and financiers to tackle challenges in global and local value chains.

Our purpose

IDH believes markets have the power to make trade more inclusive and sustainable. Through convening, co-creating, and co-financing, they design integrated solutions that transform markets—creating better jobs, better incomes, and a better environment. They address climate change, unfair wages, inequality, and gender disparities across agricultural supply chains.

Our history

Our operations

IDH transforms markets through five approaches: Convening (multi-stakeholder collaborations), Investment Solutions (mobilising capital for impactful projects), Beyond Compliance (regulatory guidance), Procurement (sustainable sourcing advisory), and Expertise (sharing strategies for sustainable transformation). They work across multiple commodity sectors including cocoa, coffee, cotton, palm oil, and tea.
