Job description

As a Supply Planner (DE), you ensure the continuous, timely, and cost-effective supply of the tank terminals we operate across Germany with refined oil products. You are responsible for inventory, supply, and capacity planning, and based on that, you optimize logistics, stock targets, and fleet utilization. As part of an international, entrepreneurial team, you maintain close information exchange with your colleagues across the entire VARO Group as well as with our trading and logistics partners. You are also closely involved in planning and logistics processes.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilites

  • Process information related to inventory, demand, production, fleet, terminal constraints, supply, market structure, and margins;
  • Lead daily optimization meetings;
  • Manage loans, deliveries, and third-party inventories (including CSO);
  • Make short-term transport decisions (chartering/rental);
  • Optimize logistics to achieve inventory targets, improve margins, and maximize fleet utilization;
  • Determine the optimal mode of transport, volume, and supply source for execution.

Job requirements

Your Profile

  • You have successfully completed your studies or vocational training in business, supply chain, or logistics. Ideally, you already have professional experience in logistics or supply chain management – preferably in the oil industry;
  • Ideally, you have initial experience in rail logistics and/or barge logistics;
  • You are able to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally, and you are an enthusiastic team player;
  • You enjoy working in cross-functional teams;
  • You show initiative and act responsibly, independently, and in a structured manner. You think analytically, proactively, and above all solution-oriented in a fast-changing market environment;
  • You have experience with ERP and EPRM systems and ideally knowledge of JD Edwards (Oracle).
