Job description

This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures.

Junior Buyer will handle basic country or multicounty sourcing routine activities and coordinate and execute low to medium complex procurement requirements to provide inputs to the global category team. In this role you will execute direct procurement activities in line with category strategies, works with suppliers and internal stakeholders and ensure compliance with regulatory, sustainability and operational requirements. This role supports Packaging categories, including flexible, industrial packaging, transport packaging.

Responsibilities

  • Execute medium complexity sourcing events and support global sourcing initiatives.
  • Drive implementation of local sourcing decisions and support local implementation of regional or global sourcing decisions.
  • Provide local inputs to the global category team for category strategy development and execution.
  • Build and maintain supplier and stakeholder relationships to deliver sustained value while ensuring compliance with standards and regulation, including innovation and sustainability goals.
  • Work with cross functional teams to support cost improvement and value engineering initiatives while ensuring business continuity.
  • Support supplier relationship management (SRM) activities, by tracking performance, and escalating risks or issues when needed.
  • Ensure procurement activities for non-contracted materials, goods, and services are conducted in line with established governance, policies, and risk requirements: escalate issues as needed to ensure business continuity.
  • Administer transactions associated with obtaining goods and services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (procurement, sourcing, engineering) or / and equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in direct procurement / packaging.
  • Practice knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Power Point).
  • Fluent English.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in food & manufacturing environments.
