Do you want to help WB to become the best WB of Europe on the back of data driven decision making? Join the WB Capital Reporting & Analytics team and learn all about Balance Sheet Management and capital optimization.


We are looking for an analyst, who will become part of the Capital Reporting and Analytics team. The data analysts will collect, analyze and report on product, finance and risk data. Generated insights are shared and discussed with other teams, senior management and business, providing robust evidence to support data driven decision making. We use our state-of-the-art dashboards to underpin strategic and tactical decisions.

Having one of the most mature data platforms in WB, we are continuously onboarding new data sources and looking for new ways to make data available to our stakeholders. Advanced tooling  is used to bring our platform to the next level. As a Data Analyst, you will be working in close cooperation with your team members in Amsterdam (7FTE) and our dedicated DevOps team in Bucharest (5 FTE).

Responsibilities

  • Use data from a wide range of sources to analyze key themes and identify impact on the business.
  • Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of the data insights,  resolving complex and contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.
  • Create PowerBI dashboards to make data insights available to the wider audience in a user friendly manner.
  • Work with the Bucharest DevOps team to model data for future use.
  • Use of “R” to optimize processes and improve analytical capabilities.

Job requirements

You have proven skills in combining and analysing data, handling high complexity and a can-do mentality. Having knowledge of the WB business is a pro but not a pre-requisite if you are willing to learn and have a steep learning curve. We are looking for a team member with the following knowledge and experience:


Core Requirements:

  • Strong belief that data is central to banking.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with R and/or Python (as strong analysts can quickly switch between languages)
  • Ensure quality and reproducibility by conducting peer reviews, testing, and documenting analytical solutions.
  • Ability to handle high complexity and maintain a can-do mindset.
  • Good communication skills: simplifying complex topics and conveying them convincingly to stakeholders.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Knowledge of WB business (not mandatory if willing to learn quickly).
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI).
  • Demonstrated “Make it happen” mindset and track record.
