Our history

Tracing Shell’s history takes you on a journey from London to Asia, from the birth of the motor car to the development of sustainable fuels. Shell’s early beginnings can be found in a London antiques shop, where Marcus Samuel decided to try selling oriental seashells as well. This would ultimately become one of the world’s leading energy companies.

Our operations

Shell aims to meet the world’s growing need for more and sustainable energy solutions in ways that are economically, environmentally and socially responsible. Their operations are divided into Shell’s businesses: Integrated Gas and Upstream, and Downstream, Renewables and Energy Solutions.
